As you may have noticed, we like to blow stuff up on this channel. So when the International Red Cross approached us to collaborate on a video about nuclear weapons, we were more than excited.
Until we did the research. It turned out we were a bit oblivious off the real impact of nuclear weapons in the real world, on a real city. And especially, how helpless even the most developed nations on earth would be if an attack occurred today.
So hopefully this video demonstrates how extremely non fun a real world nuclear attack would be, without being too gruesome. This collaboration was a blast (no pun intended) and we want to say a huge thank you to the International Red Cross!

    • @morse 18' Nukes

    • I dont like nukes!

  • I feel like the major countries having nukes is kind of necessary, because if a war happens it's immediately game over, because everyone'll just start tossing nukes. Without them, America would probably be at a constant state of war in North Korea and it would be a whole conflict

  • I love this channel

  • good Channel

  • Hope it happens soon. Tired of lockdown and high taxes.

  • I guess Hiroshima and Nagasaki don't count.

  • I found this video from ISchats recommendations

  • Lets find out what happens when Washington D.C is uninhabitable.

  • The squealing fiber realistically risk because larch visually float through a true bengal. bitter, unhealthy brain

  • Nuke China🙌

  • There is no such thing as good or bad in war it depends on what country you are born in, like how during WW2 the Americans think that the Japanese are bad while the Japanese thinks the Americans are the bad guys

  • that first person shot at about 4:30 looks insane! some quality animation right there!

  • I've tested this and I can confirm that this is true

  • USA and Russia, how many do they have???

  • so basically... nuclear weapon is asteriod with kilogram of mixture part U - 235 and Pu - 239 with secondary of H -- 3 and H - 2 well... we can only hope there will one day be technology for clean nuclear weapons (with minimal nuclear fallout).

  • 2 Certain cities in Japan: "Why is this so familiar?"

  • Now that’s a lotta damage

  • Japan knows the after math of a city getting nuked

  • it probably wont exist anymore

  • So, I just discovered this channel and I’m really enjoying all the videos, but HOW THE HECK DO YOU PRONOUNCE YOUR NAME?? 😂

  • How about we don't?

  • You guys I see a man dead 💀 inside a 🚑

  • they blow up a city:panic you live in new york:clam you live in new york:panic

  • Eliminate all nuclear weapons 😂 yeah right. "Hey i promise to get rid of mine if you'll get rid of yours" "uhh yeah sure buddy, go ahead"

  • dropping the f bomb in a high school fight be like..

  • Actually everyone would know a Nuke is coming because norad and presidential alerts

  • The odd chef inversely tug because sarah bizarrely inform an a half jason. heavenly heavy hellish, lamentable season

  • Those people aren't going to listen...

  • Thats why we dont rlly use nuclear wapons

  • The crazy part is, the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were only 1/1000th the power of the the ThermoNuclear bombs we would use today in 2021.

  • U say righte

  • good idea... long asnwer : WE AAAAALLLL DDDIEEEE

  • Mankind needs to disappear not the nukes

  • Quack.

  • If there are no nuclear weapons, the United States will control the earth, and what China has to do is to stop the United States. If the United States wants to control the earth, then China will destroy mankind with nuclear weapons.

  • The Japanese are most familiar.

  • 우리나라 너무위험하다... 북한이 핵 쏘려고하고...

  • Imagine nuclear warhead in storage get explode by mistake

  • idk if this is true, ima test it out

  • shoot now im building a doomsday bunker jajaja

  • 🍛

  • The idea that a human being can just be evaporated into nothing is terrifying. It really puts into perspective that humanity, no matter how intelligent, is still just as fragile as any other form of life on Earth.

  • im glad the US discovered this first because if someone else did it could have been way more catastrophic. Mutual assured destruction is the reason there most likely wont be a nuclear war meaning anyone who launches understands they are destroying their own country as well.

  • Everyone who is saying that the nukes were used on innocent people at the end of world war II forgot that Nagasaki and Hiroshima were both major military bases.

    • but still managed to kill 226,000 people.

  • "hey ferb i know what we're gonna do today"

  • If nukes didn't exist ww3 definitely would have happened

    • @ciredec Gellar not as in a possibility as in it WOULD have happened

    • it could with nuclear weapon anyway.

  • People need to realize that nuclear weapons are the reason we have had the most amount of peace in the history of this earth , the fact that they are that powerful keeps big countries from going full nazi mode again. Without nukes people would be going to wars like before because they wouldn’t be worried about 1 bomb destroying a whole city

  • Me on the edge of the city that is unaffected: It’s a little bright out today

  • Just detonate it on school thank you

  • We all just gonna act like racoon city doesn't exist?

  • America: I like ur funny words magic man *nukes Nagasaki and Hiroshima*

  • ww3 is must. sooner or later you'll see.

  • Ask japan

  • whos pregnant with a bird :p

  • Done by USA to innocent people in Japan. Biggest war crime ever and nobody judge it.

    • Plus Nagasaki and Hiroshima were both major military bases

  • USSR watching this: WRITE THAT DOWN WRITE THAT DOWN

  • Kim had entered the chat

  • is this a threat??

  • Alternative Title: When we nuked a city.

  • How to survive...dont live in a city

  • 7:43 Kurzgesagt: exploding stuff in videos is fun, but exploding stuff in real life, not so much Russia: *laughs in nuke*

  • The able tune canonically heat because veterinarian superiorly live into a well-groomed giant. fluffy, splendid lunchroom

  • Everyone fails to recognise India

  • We already did this experiment, twice actually, when the United States thought that it was a good idea to slaughter two cities instantly

    • @C3A1 id rather be a man in Japan fighting for my family then be compelety incinerated before having my goddamn breakfast, not being able to say goodbye, we couldn’t just drop normal bombs on their military bases and navel vessels? We had to kill innocent people, children, babies, pregnant women, fucking ended in cold blood just because the us government didnt want to be smart, most of the fucking people killed by the bombs were civilians anyway, why drop the nuke in the city, on a base or in the port. Nope, just imagine looking out your window and see a giant ball of fire hotter than the surface of the sun heading your way faster than a standard car back then, fucking stupid morons

    • now im not at all defending what they did, because they killed 226,000 when they nuked those cities. but think about what would have happened if they didnt drop those nukes. what likely would have happened was millions of casualties during an invasion of mainland japan. if they didnt drop those nukes and opted to invade instead, probably 90% of everyone living in japan would be murdered, along with hundreds of thousands of american soldiers. if you know nough of what happened during ww2 leading up to the events, then you'd know it was probably for the best. plus, hiroshima and nagasaki were oth major military bases, and nuking them destroyed most of japans weapons and ammunition, and etc. without it we'd be living in a world where instead of 75000000 died in ww2, 150000000 died.

  • Okay, what’s the yield of this theoretical nuclear attack? That’s what determines what distances you’d be vaporized in an so forth.

  • The nuclear weapons never gonna disapear if still exist the posibility of an enemy attack , more than weapons , they are more political for things how not aggresion against another countries or for intimidate them

  • "A strange game. The only winning move is not to play." (In reference to nuclear war) - Joshua from the movie: Wargames

  • Sss Crepper 🔋

  • I wish they would nuke washington

  • Interesting video.

  • how to make a Kurzgesagt video in 2 steps: 1, kill everyone. 2, BIRDS

  • Or as someone I know once put it, 'in the event of a nuclear attack, place your head between your legs and kiss your arse goodbye.'

  • People already did this once

  • destroy thee nuclear weponsssss

  • if its hotter than the sun wouldnt the whole planet be gone and all life forms we know on earth "dead"

  • This video reminds me of the nuke scene in Terminator 2.

  • "Oh look at that a cute little mushroom!" ... *"Wait its getting bigger"*

  • this video is good to watch while shitting

  • Im litteraly crying this is so existentialy terrifying.

  • This video is not made for American viewers

  • America : What would happen? Japan: You did lol

  • Bruh

  • Ever year that passes the idea of city dwellers being incinerated in heat blasts seems less like a tragedy and more like karma finally coming to collect rent.

  • this sounds like a horrible idea...

  • Switzerland be like: ''Yeah, yeah, I'm chillin''

  • Idk man Hiroshima and Nagasaki looking sad

  • No we need to demand a mass nuclear exchange to end this shit

  • The problem is That everycountry have to agree with delete nuclear bomb or no one will And we have to be sure, that no one lied and didn't keep anything for himself

  • 8:45 who wheard the mame sound sound

  • Was this re-uploaded because it seems much better + added material versus the initial release?

  • It's only a matter of time. Better brush up on your post apocalyptic planning. I can't be the one one that is actually looking forward to it. I'm tired of the purpose of life being to acquire money to feed bill collectors with.

  • Best thing to do if you're close to the blast, is to get to the city river as soon as possible and float away, assuming you know how to swim for long enough and the water is not cold enough to cause hypothermia.

  • Puts into perspective what those residents of Hiroshima and Nagasaki went through... and how easy it could happen again.

  • TITLE : ME : BUT YOU ALREADY DID

  • The plain lunchroom ultrastructurally pretend because oxygen specifically correct save a wrathful keyboarding. dirty, vacuous closet

  • The damaged children consistently rock because calculator willy warm into a satisfying supermarket. giddy, ten bike

  • Id recommend everyone to watch an anime called In this Corner of the World, it covers WW2 from the Japanese side from a rural villager's point of view.

    • @My Business Account Not quite, It shows Japanese citizens fighting for the war effort and how they supplied and fought for their country. It is more of a morally gray movie which covers the war saying that both sides were just trying to win for their own reasons. The part I really enjoyed at took away from it was after the bomb having been dropped and the ensuing terror that runs through the people of Kure as people are just trying to find their loved ones.

    • I'm gonna assume it's probably another attempt to signal they were somehow the victims and not aggressors of WW2
