Summary: I customized my car horn to play three different sounds. The main sound is the "Courtesy Honk" which is used to get the attention of other drivers in a non-emergency scenario. It's two quick chirps of the horn that is not only friendly sounding, but it's not as loud as a normal car horn.

Quick question Mark, at 2.18 the sound board shown on Amazon has no 3.5mm audio jack BUT at 2.19 and 2.38 it shows a 3.5mm jack built in, can't find the one with jack on Amazon!?

I don't like the sound it is still sharp, if you go to South Korea the taxis (and maybe most cars) there have 2 horns one soft, one harsh, the soft one sounds cool, a lot cooler than yours.

I always thought a screeching tire sound would be useful. Here is the scenario - someone cuts you off. If you honk, they’re going to be defensive and think you’re the jerk. But if they hear (what they think) is your tires screeching, they’ll think “OMG, I just cut that guy off and he had to slam his brakes”....and they’ll feel bad (hopefully). This could also be useful is someone is following way too close. You don’t want to brake check since that could cause an accident and hurt someone. But what if you could do a screeching tire sound? It might make the follower think you hit your brakes even though you didn’t. Maybe an idea for next time. I agree a “nice” horn sound is the missing feature all cars should have.

Why don't you just have a continuous hidden speaker that runs engine noise through a program that's hooked up to the sensor on the pedal so that the sound will get louder and quieter when you step on the gas and when you release the gas. Their, problem solved!!
I never have honked at anyone before ,I find it really rude ,I got honked at once I followed them cut them off then threatened them ,I'll never tolerate getting honked at it's a huge pet peeve!!
The real issue is that people interpret a car horn to be offensive rather than a simple communication device.
I too drive a VW, but it’s a red Beetle, the horn sounds so old even though it’s literally the model from 2019.
